Why Do I Want This House?

    Overall Ideals

For a house I have always dreamt of something spacey and modern. Whilst having that desire, I want something compact that doesn’t give a lot of excess space. A waste of space is a waste of money in my opinion so something that maximizes my homes value makes me secure in my housing choice. I also don’t plan on living with many people besides one or two with maybe some guest space.

    Interior Design

For the inside design, I want something modern looking that’s simple to prevent visual clutter and room to add decorations that doesn’t rely on the home atmosphere. For color, I would like to stick to brown, white, beige, and black to be consistent with the simple theme. Each space should have simple layering, but also symmetrical design making everything look uniform. I would like for all spaces such as closets and cabinets to be even as i would like all space to be evenly distributed.

    Neighborhood enviorment

For the neighborhood, I would like a secluded area with a lot of community. I would like the community to be close but with space for individual enjoyment as when I would like to be removed from being around my neighbors, I can feel at home. Vice Versa when I want to visit or communicate with my neighbors their easily accessible. I also would prefer the neighborhood to be uniform in spacing but each house has a bit of individuality.

    Location and reasoning

For overall space I would like a roof or outside space such as a patio accessible from within the home. Regarding a lawn, if possible I would like a small minimized lawn to prevent heavy maintenance but a visual pleaser for visitors and people walking by. Having a 1 car garage with a driveway will be nice as more than that I deem unnecessary. Finally, I would like my location to be a reasonable distance from grocery and other stores so my needs are as accessible as possible. The purpose for wanting all of these things is to have a comfortable home without having any unnecessary features that may add extra delay in my day to day life.

  • Beyond The Click

    Finding immersion

Photography is more immersive and interesting besides the shutter, click, and save of a photo. Photography can capture memories and tell a whole story from looking at five photos to even just one photo. Starting with the concept of creating depth with the photo by capturing contrast , dimensionality, and foreground objects to encapsulate a context to the story around the main focus of the photo. Capturing balance in the photo can add to this depth by giving layers giving a 3-dimensional illusion that extends the visual weight without actually adding anything to the scene. This can be done by using various different lighting scenes, getting the right amount of space in the frame, or adding focus to background objects.

    Light creates new a vision

Light plays a huge part in how a photo is taken and how it is perceived. Time of day is a contributor as the general atmosphere can not only tell a story on the context of the photo, but it can also convey an emotion as for example, nighttime can represent introspection and vulnerability as the dark atmosphere highlights the focus object or person being ingulfed in the dark. Adding shadows to a light atmosphere add depth and emphasis on the object or person it stems from. It gives volume to the scene and adds to the photo without putting additional objects within the space. Even as little as light direction and the positioning of the shot can change the lighting patterns and the effect of the lighting because of the different perspectives it can show within the photo.

    Visual storytelling

From what I learned, visual storytelling can be controlled and change with every aspect of a photo. Using visual storytelling is a good way to convey emotions and express complex narratives with a single photo. It creates time to process a moment or a frame beyond what the human eye can capture because the moment passes. Using time to feel and process the photo is valuable as you can imagine a story or what happened using the context in the photo. I have now learned photography does not have rules to it and its a creative art form as it gives opportunity for the photographer to be an author and narrator. As the visual mass and the interesting focus come to your attention with the photo, imagery becomes more powerful than any video or moment experienced as you can build an emotional connection to the photo.
